Authors, booksellers, and avid readers -- mark your calendars! Authors for Indies 2017 is scheduled for Saturday, April 29.
We seem to have fallen into a 'last Saturday in April or first Saturday in May' kind of pattern, and this coincides with Independent Bookstore Day in the US, which is kind of nice.
We're also totally delighted that Globe and Mail bestselling author Jennifer Robson has agreed to be our spokesauthor. Jennifer has been a staunch supporter of AFI, going above and beyond the call of duty last year to do the CBC Twitter Takeover for eastern time zones. Thank you, Jennifer!
Once the September long weekend is over and the lazy (or busy) days of summer become a faint memory, the team will be getting together to do some planning. Now that we've done this event a couple of times, we have a better idea of what tasks, skills, and communication are needed. We will be adding to the team so that we can do more to help booksellers have a great day on April 29.
